I would bet tech response 101......"It was broken when the vehicle came in" caused the owner to replace the damaged part.
I spent 15 yrs hearing "this or that" broke from age, or was broken prior to repair (including stripped threads), from dealers/indys/oil change shops.
In the past 20 yrs of DIY EVERYTHING on Vipers/ZR1s/BMWs, a total of ZERO item have stripped or broken from age during repairs.
Could it be careless techs were screwing stuff up?
