I have a 2008 X5 and the left button on my shifter is stuck so it looks like I need to replace the shifter. Has anyone replaced the assembly yet? I found a used one but wanted to know if it requires any type of programming after it gets replaced. Also I read it is possible to just remove the shifter. Can I replace it without taking apart the center console or do I have to replace the whole assembly. The part number I am replacing is 61319168847 (Gear Selector Switch)
