I love that my X is really fun to drive. Every time I fire it up and drive to work, it's just...fun! The steering is on point, the V8 has tons of power with a huge powerband, and the faster I go, the smoother the ride.

However of those that are members there have to be many more owners who are happy with the X and

That being the case I celebrate the fun i have and look forward to many more good times.
This is the logic that I used when I decided that I wanted a BMW instead of a Honda or Toyota. Forums are full of problems because that's where people go to find information and/or complain. So it's a skewed data set.

A coworker has an early E53 and raves about how reliable and trustworthy it is. She takes it skiing all winter long and it's her daily driver. And she's never had any trouble with it.

On the other hand, I've had to do ~$7000 worth of repairs to mine (really glad I bought the extended warranty).

That's weird. I get well over 400 miles on a tank too. Getting roughly 8 mpg when you should be getting at least double that is something probably worth looking into...unless you drive with the gas pedal floored all the time.
