EDIT: I dropped off at the shop today and had them take 1.5" off the arm, figured it was a good balance between the inch the OP listed and the 1.7" David noted above.
I can't imagine that the .2 inches would be that big of difference, if anything I would just have the resting position of the wiper be a touch higher on the windshield so it didn't make contact.
My shop is going to complete it today and I'll pick it up tomorrow so I will update with a pic when installed and mounted if all goes well
