I am talking about the HPFP not the fuel feeder pump in the tank.High pressure fuel pump is driven mechanically and puling the fuse off will not stop pump turning. When you change your filter,if you don't do ignition cycle to fill up the lines and filter with diesel, then chances are there for the pump to run dry until feeder pump pushes diesel.Thats why rheingold suggests to cycle the ignition on/off couple of times to prime the lines and filter.
