I suppose that could make sense that both the airbags were leaking and there was a compressor problem but why then did the fuse not blow when there was a leak since the compressor had to be continuously working to keep the suspension filled with air? The bags don't leak at all now, so it would seem the compressor would have to do less work and the compressor blows the bags all the way up. The weight in the back is the only thing that causes the fuse to blow. Do the new bags need to be calibrated with the car at all?
