JCP240Z is correct, this is an updated fan for the E53 with the V-8. Fan is BMW 17 41 7 504 732 and depending on the production date of your X5, it would require the later fan clutch. Both fan versions are 11 blade and 420 mm diameter.

Check YOUR car's VIN to know what fan clutch you presently have on your car.

My (diesel M57) car has a 7 blade and 420 mm diameter fan. No cooling issues but I'll be looking to see if / how mine could be updated to have more flow for hot days and/or heavy A/C use.
