The N62 on the e53 is slightly different than the N62 in the e60 & e65/e66 due to the (I believe) one of the front axle's half shafts runs through the oil pan. I can't remember if it's the left or right one.

{E60 550i Oil Pan}



{E53 4.4 & 4.8is Oil Pan...note the passage going thru the middle of the oil pan for the half shaft}
