Not to worry, just trying to get my car back together. When I unplugged the fuel pump connector, I discovered that the plastic around the pin was so far gone that the pin just flopped up and down. There was no way I could plug the connector back in without stabilizing the pin somehow so it wouldn't move. JB Weld to the rescue; and I ran the evap test successfully twice afterward so it does work. Based on your experience though, I guess I should be ordering a new fuel pump assembly.
