Area has something to do with it as well... Around me the cops leave you alone if its an expensive car even with mods (suburbs), more so target the tuner cars and younger crowd, they probably dont think im 21 in this though...
Im out often very late at night and if there is a cop near me or behind me I dont even go past 1.5k Rpm LOL. At night you can really hear the noise it makes versus during the day with other traffic around.

Wow your x5 definitely is loud. I just finished installing the Eisenmann Race on my 4.6is and it definitely sounds authoritative but nothing that is going to get me a ticket.
