Replaced my power steering hoses and the number of drips has dropped considerably. The last remaining serious drip seems to come from the connection flange (
11421435096 ) where the remote oil filter hoses attach to the block (I have the M62 4.4). I have looked at the VCG a great deal with a mirror and don't think it is leaking from there...
Luckily these little o-rings are cheap. I tried replacing the orings on the ends of the hoses going into the flange (
11421702905), but that wasn't the source of my leak.
realoem shows just one o-ring under that flange, but I am sure it has to have two (in and out) - anyone know if they are identical (get 2 of
12311718712) or do I need to track down a different part number?
Has anyone ever changed those? Would love to hear that it is possible and has been done before...
