Using my hand to guide the dipstick into the tube and making sure it makes it way into the broken part it's registering all the way above the plastic and onto the actual rod. Do I need to drain off a few quarts or is it ok for today until I can do the oil change Tomor row? Also is there a way for me to reset the oil inspection myself or do I have to take it somewhere? I'll tell you what though, it's a relief that the oil is registering now. When it wasn't going into the pan, it was rubbing on the dirt and grime built up at the bottom of the engine there And I thought I had some serious sludge and debris in my oil pan. Not to mention what looked like white milky foam which I immediately thought was minor head gasket leak. I was praying it was just condensation from the 20 minutes I drove in this south florida humidity that hadnt evaporated off yet. It sucks that the tube is broke but it's a relief that what I was observing wasn't something more severe.
