It was easy. You remove the nut that holds the selector to the rod then I used a pick to carefully remove the old seal (you can also get the GM seal removal tool but IMO is not necessary). I cleaned up everything and then pressed the new seal into place using a 14mm socket and couple small pieces of wood to create a lever and apply even pressure.
