So I found your thread and a few others about the burned connector. I'm thinking it must be my problem too. So I just spent my Saturday morning pulling up the backseat to check my connector.

My connector is perfectly clean, no burn marks. I'm think well that's good, at least it's not the fuel pump.

I thought why don't l just check my gas cap to make sure it's nice and tight. Popped the lid, and my to surprise NO GAS CAP.

I was almost too embarrassed to post a follow-up to your question. What a coincidence! I get the letter within days of getting the CEL and error code.

Thanks for posting the DIY, at least I know my fuel pump connectors are in good shape.
