If it's anything like the others, the "Carbon Black Edition" was some paint and a different interior color. Now, I *love* the carbon black color. It and Chiaretto Red were my favorite E39 M5 colors. But let's be honest, the only *real* value of one color or optioned E53 over another is really in the eye of the beholder. If it's worth more to you bc you like it, then good for you.

Looking at E53's is exactly like I teach my daughter to look at people. They might have all kinds of different colors that you can see, but all of that is just a wrapper. It's the stuff inside that counts.
