It was an easy replacement. I had to remove some of the trunk trim pieces to get to the wire connectors and the spindles have a clip that must be pulled before prying/pulling the spindle off of the nipple but otherwise easy replacement.

what happened to your old, broken one? If you have it, I'd like to get my hands on it, for some autopsy, if possible. I am in NoVA myself, in Stafford area...
