Update, I changed the transmission fluid and filter, surprisingly it was very dirty in spite of changing it about 3k miles ago. however, there were what I would consider normal shavings, no pieces of metal. After cycling the transmission a few times, the fluid got dirty again. The noise is not as loud as before. If I step on the gas pedal, at about 4-5k rpm, I'll hear the light whining. whilst in there I also disconnect each solenoid and pressure switch and checked them, they were all good. I am planning to change the fluid again, not sure where this will lead to.
