Doru is on a distinguished road
Concerning the 4.8 - it's the same as the 4.4 (facelift), the only (significant) difference would be the EGS programmed number and the EGS basic number when doing the re-flash.

Concerning the e70 - I am not sure what transmission it has, but ANY electrical problem on these cars - doesn't matter what model/series they are - from sedans to coupe to SAV - can cause a glitch in any of the modules. I am not sure about the other modules, but my X had the mechatronics module glitched 100% (the GKE, formerly known as EGS in the pre-facelift models or simply: transmission module). A transmission re-flash does not hurt. It could actually mend the issue.

As an example, in the defunct e39, a bad, but otherwise fully functional ballast (yes, I know, go figure), caused all kinds of electrical gremlins. That one was b*tch to trace down. Do a search with the key words: "flashers on, dome light on, crash recognition program", and you might even find my post. Numerous BMW's had that issue, no one figured it out.
