ok so I'm talking with BCRedliner in another thread about the benefits of the Dinan CAI (which I just installed) and the Dinan software you can buy to help that CAI be more useful... and in the talk he got me wondering about the aftermarket ECU tune I have on 4.4i (this is what the ecs programming company said about their stage 1 tune they have for me: "Our tune stage 1 for BMW 4.4 includes optimized timing using 91 (I use 91 99.9% of time) or 94 octane, sharper throttle, speed limiter off, RPM increased by 250"
I have an aftermarket tune BUT I just had to re-flash my tranny with SSS Progman to clear up the hard shift from 2-1st gear I was experiencing... this reflash I did a few nights ago would have not affected the aftermarket tune I paid for years ago would it? they are different modules of the vehicle if I'm not mistaken. And truth be told, my tranny seems snappier now after reflash.
So now I'm wondering if I did do the Dinan tranny software for a facelifted e53, maybe THAT tune would not negate the aftermarket tune I have.
Perhaps I'm wrong in my understanding though...
