Misleading advice is from yours, not mine.
What I said is: the Home Depot pliers work just fine.
Listen, what I say is BOTH my pliers (posted above) and yours work.
In your earlier post, you said "Do not use this clamp. You need one that will crush the top into the clamp, creating a proper flattens to it, so that it doesn't snag or catch shit, oh and doesn't open back up". It is simply a stupid statement to make (beside using profanity in your language)...
The fact that I have done close to 100 GKN boots using that pliers from Home Depot and none of the Oetiker clamps ever came loose. You don't seem to understand how the Oetiker clamp work: it has a hook and it stays there. The ear, once clamped down by the pliers, does not come apart, get it?

Dude, BTW I know alot of BMW mechanics who own BMW repair shop, they are the ones that told me to use the Home Depot pliers...
The bottom line is: if you don't know what you are talking about, then don't open your mouth...
