Although it may seem silly, I think its important to note that you perform the update from V26 to V26.09 and then pick the update you want to perform, i.e. perspective or toggle or toggle3d.

I thought because your instructions were numbered that they had to be performed in that order and it wasn't working and kept saying my system is already up to date.
