How to remove dipstick tube from V8?

I'm in the process of changing the timing chain guides on my 2002 4.6is. I have the front of the engine mostly torn down and am about to pull off the lower timing cover, but I have a problem. I can't get the dipstick tube out of the way and it's preventing the cover from coming off.

I have the clamp at the top removed, and the one at the bottom where it goes into the oil pan. The tube itself is loose and easily moves around. But due to the way it's shaped and snakes down to the oil pan, I can't find an angle where it will come out. Surely there must be a way that doesn't involve removing the AC compressor, but that seems like the only way.

Does anyone know the secret to getting it out? Any my, oh my, that is one tightly packed engine compartment!
