Freeze Frame data is a standard OBDII data report. Any decent generic OBDII tool that supports Freeze Frame data can gather this. You cannot get this with anything onboard via iDrive.
But for $30 or less you can get your own OBDII scan tool. Smart phone/tablet Apps are very powerful and you need one. It will pay for itself the first time you use it. Keep in mind shops charge $90-$125 for a "computer diagnosis" which is little than just connecting an OBDII tool and searching for codes. About 5 minutes at most, this is not a diagnosis, this is just a basic scan and this allows the mechanics to make more money than lawyers. Neither which are worth what you end up paying them!
No need to guess, get an OBDII App and get the codes read and you will know exactly what is going on.
You want OBDFusion, for the iProducts it is $9.99, for Android is is $3.99. Forget about ANY OTHER App you hear people talking about. OBDFusion is the App you want and they offer the App for both common phone/tablet platforms.
For iProducts you NEED a
Wifi adapter, for Android you can use the
Bluetooth adapter.

So for the basic OBFusion, you are at $30 or less for iProducts and under $20 for Android. Very worth while once you find out what you can do with these Apps. Do not let the low price fool you, this is a VERY powerful App and has a lot of capabilities.
