Dont ever ever EVER, and i mean NEVER use a can do dip a body panel, it just doesnt work. Sounds like you need to get a lot more information about dip and how it works and what techniques to use and how to use it, the temperature it works best in and so on. Its not as simple as just spraying it.

Some base coats like gray and black can be done with 3-4 coats, other lighter colors do require 8+ coats to get a good coverage. With dip, black isnt really black, it has more of a black/gray look. If you want that dark black then you gotta use Black Betty Pearl flakes mixed in with dip or as a top coat.

Again, please go to DYC site and read for few week, you will learn a lot.
