I have been thinking of making my own intake and intake pipe. The only aftermarket filter I see for the 3.0 leaves the piping stock which has a Helmholtz resonator as well as some ribbing that probably turbulates airflow (probably not that much though).
Thanks man, good idea! I'll have to find some glue that can bear the heat. I kinda threw this one together real quick thinking i'll make it look pretty later.


I threw the factory air box back in temporarily to compare the difference back to back and man I gotta say the way the throttle feels is like night day for me. With the airbox there's almost an added "lagginess" to the throttle, almost like it's being "bogged down" in a way (clean new filter) and when I took it out with the intake it just really feels like airflow is opened up and the car can really breath. Throttle response is instant and just feels so much more available.
