Question on this older post
I am looking to find a useful repair manual for the E70. I see the Rheingold setup for my vehicle is $79 for software or $139 for software and cable.
I was wondering if this software is detailed enough to provide steps to access a component for repair or replacement? For example, I need the steps required to disassemble the vehicle to access the headlight to replace the ballast?
It seems most of these so-called sources of instruction show how to fix the exact item, but contain no instruction on how to access it. In my case, I have found info that shows how to unscrew the ballast from the light assembly and put in a new one, but nothing on how to actually get to it.
On an editorial note: It seems like all third-party DIY support stopped with the E53. Bentley, Peake, TIS, and even the How To's on this very site all seem to have given up for the E70 and later. Not sure if that has anything to do with later models just being more difficult to work on for DIYers, lack of interest by previous providers, or all the above. I had an E53 for 13 years, and I can't imagine newer models being much harder to work on than that was.
Thanks in advance.
