With sports pkg the ride tends to be bumpier and not as comfy and most ppl dont prefer that. With that said, if this car was for me, I'd get sports pkg for sure (as with my 330i and x5). But this car is for my dear mother, who could careless for more sportiness nor would she know the difference.

agreed, they probably told you that because they didn't have one in stock. Although I agree with you that a luxury car should have a luxurious ride, I don't find the sport package 7 to have a bumpy, harsh ride at all. But again, it's for your mom, so it doesn't matter
