... And just because a few of you guys are not capable of doing the update right it does not automatically mean it does not work in general.
Before telling the people such nonsense please go to your dealer and get the original firmware CDs and try again. You'll see that updating the MK3 with an orginal (or properly written) v26 works like a charm. Or v25. Or v24.
Most of the unsuccessful update attempts went wrong because of the wrong CD-R type (color matters) and - more often - the CD has been written too quickly (4x should be max, better go for 1x or 2x speed) or because the people don't pay attention to the recommended procedure for updating...
You can update ANY MKx with any v2x-version!
