Now that I got a bunch of spare inverters in the mail - I attempted to light them up again. Same deal - high beam halo was lame, half lit and purple.
So i took it out of the halo ring, cut off the heat shrink and noted they didn't solder, but used crimp connectors. I took those off, cleaned up the short ccfl lead, and wire wrapped it. Came back to life - poor chinese workmanship. I'll hit it with a dab of solder tomorrow at work. I still have the 2nd set coming in the mail.
Fun to tear into this stuff.
