Good theory. Im not experiencing any lifter noise. The motor sounds and runs smooth. The only time it runs bad is when I have a misfire and that injector is cut off. I have to pull over and restart the motor.

Fuel milage has also dropped sine the start of these problems.

Haven't been able to spend much time on the car since the holidays. Hopefully soon things will let up and I can get back to trying to fix it.
Went and looked at some used Suburbans thinking of trading the X5 in. All the Suburbans had issues as well. Cant get away from car problems.
