If you have the lower timing cover off, you can strategically twist and pull the tube and get it out of the way without actually removing it. That's what I did.
You have to pull it out of the upper oil pan, then twist it to swivel away from the engine. Then you have plenty of room to work.
Note: Order a new O-Ring for the bottom of the tube where it enters the oil pan. Mine leaked like a mofo after putting it back together. I ended up needing a new O-Ring and a big glob of RTV to seal it.
