the best way to help seal piston rings on a FI engine is to run it hard. let the boost build cylinder pressure to put more pressure on oil rings.
No massive leaks, just a few drops on the ground.
I've never noticed smoke other than when the engine is cold, but I've also never had anyone drive behind me either and specifically look at what is coming out the pipes.

FYI - this engine is at 60,000 miles. So I doubt piston rings are all of a sudden seal now after flogging the engine a few times.
