			One of the problems duscussed about these engines is the initial piston ring sealing, or break-in if you want. Due to the huge power of the engine ,and some people being cautious to break-in the engine properly, the rings may never seal properly. In simple words, it takes load(combustion chamber pressure) to push the ring against the cylinder to make it seal properly.Actually a quart in a thousand miles may not be so bad for a V8. M54B30 can "eat" up to a quart in a thousand miles without any visible signs of smoke, leakage, carbon deposits, etc.
