Any Better Options for Oil Separator Hoses

Two years ago I replaced the two oil separator hoses that sit on the back of the intake manifold (2002 4.4i).

While replacing my timing chain guides, VCG, and all of the coolant hoses, I noticed that these new hoses I bought just two years were extremely soft and on the verge of failure.

Is there a better and more permanent hose for this? Is there something special about these expensive hoses? I feel as though a pair of 3/4 radiator hoses would last longer. . . .geez!
