I'll echo what the others have said about CPO. You won't regret it if you go CPO. Also can agree that the '01's have plenty of little nickel and dime stuff wrong with them, which is irritating sometimes.

I can also say that I've had good relations with my Car Max Max Care warranty, after a very rocky start with them. I just had my local BMW dealer replace a front control arm, fan belt, radiator hose and do an alignment and the grand total for that work (@ $115 per hour) was $1100. That is with my Service Advisor giving me a nice hookup on the labor hours, too. I pay $75 and my warranty covers the rest.

Unless you wipe with Ben Franklin, it ain't no fun to see the bill once the X has been in the shop.
