A campus carry law, allowing concealed carry on college campuses, is advancing through the legislature here in GA. It does not allow carry in residential housing areas, and fraternities and sororities can still ban them on premises. But, it would allow it in other areas, or in your car, all of which is currently illegal.

When I was in college (in GA), I kept my shotgun, and a borrowed 30-30, under my bed in my dorm. The only thing anyone ever said was "when do we get venison", or, my favorite "when can we eat that turkey".

Funny how hysterical the fear has become.
