I was able to pull off the job with out the wife's hands. Wasn't as bad as I thought. My E53 was a bigger PITA to pull off. I think I took all day on the post cat for my E53. So I replaced both sensors with Bosch part number 16413 16414. I removed the protective plate covering the trans and that gave me access to the O2 sensors and connections. The first one I was able to remove with a small crescent wrench. Second one was more of a pain. Rented a O2 removal tool from local autoparts store. I used the short socket as that was exactly what I need. It took about 2 hours give or take. I reset the code and now well see what happens. Before erasing code notice I also had a P0162 along with the P0161 which I think is related to the P0161. Now someone before mentioned checking the fuses for the O2 sensors. Where the hell would those be ? I hope this solved the problem. Anybody know if the E70 has a fuse or relay for the O2 sensors?
