Our 06 E53 4.4 w/ 160k miles has needed fewer repairs than our 09 35d w/ 45k miles. While you list a few "common" issues, those are the easy ones to figure out and fix. It is the uncommon ones that will drive you crazy. The complexity of the E70 plus the 35d makes it a buggy puzzle to figure anything out

To get the most sport out of the ride you are going to want Adaptive Drive. AD is pretty rare on a 35d 2010 and up. It super easy to get on an 09 as it was standard with the sport package up to 2009. That was my problem and now I am stuck with the early iDrive which I hate because of the bad backup camera and other slow buggy issues. I hope CIC conversions are going to get cheaper as the E70 gets older.
