So Yesterday, I noticed that the racks on my X5 are bubbling in the rear. I was thinking about two things.
Removing (Which I am less then thrilled about dropping the headliner, and if I do Ill end up doing a whole wrap of it in something like alcantara fabricor dying the liner and pillars) and plasti-dipping in either Black or Silver or just painting them while on the vehicle. Thoughts? Should I keep the black and Platinum Bronze or add the silver as an accent. BTW I am not going to throw $1000 worth of X5M racks on this thing because I refuse to buy the bigger wheels and tires that will have to go along with it.
With the sale of the 135, I decided to do some upgrades to the X5 this weekend. I bought an LCI rear bumper in Platinum Bronze, New LCI Tail Lights, shifter with sport button, finally getting around to updating that idrive controller and some flaps. Seeing as how I don't have the 135 anymore, I am turning the X5 into my new play toy.
When I had my E60 2007 530xi, I bought a sport button retrofit button from Roskinc and it changed the throttle response, steering stiffness and shift points beyond what sliding into DS mode does, which just changes the shift points(Despite what everyone says that's all that DS does

). I was thinking, since it tied directly into the stability control button that it may in fact be possible to give our NON Adaptive Drive X5's a more sporty feel.
I had a Sport button in my 135 and it totally changed the car and I miss it. Im gonna order the button and see if I cant somehow get it to do the same thing on mine.
Sorry for the rambling on but I have a mod itch and Im starting to scratch it. Thank god I pay the Amex.
