I "Think" and I stress "Think" that like any BMW I have ever owned, they include an allen wrench either in the rear tool kit of the car or under the motor access panel in the front. You can use the wrench to manually crank the roof in the event of a motor failure. I don't know if it works that way on the E70 put hell, its worth a shot. My gut is telling me that knowing BMW it will probably wind the shade back but I imagine that with these stupid pano roofs there must be some kind of service position. Please let us all know as I know this has happened to several people on the forums.
