I considered, but held off, doing the struts; figure I'll do them in the Fall when I revisit the rear suspension and have decided whether to move up to the Bilstein HD B6/4600 equipment. I'm doing the front sway bar bushings while I'm in there, though the sway bar and bushings appear in good condition. I have prepared an outline from the various instructions and videos, but am cogitating on what order to follow in deconstructing and reassembling each side. I have the tools assembled, and will give the cheap Harbor Freight 3/4" ball joint tool a try. Alignment and Report to follow when done!
Sounds like you have a big job ahead of you! May I suggest getting the better ball joint tool on Amazon, I used this in my E39: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EdoIc2-tqkU

I had 2 harbor freight ones and both snapped from the stress.
