I asked to be sure that wasn't including a fuel filter because I did it recently, he confirmed it was not. When I asked why 8 quarts and a filter cost $260 in a 3L diesel and 8 quarts and a filter cost $120 in a 3L gas engine, the service advisor couldn't tell me.
The dealership all but admitted to price gouging diesel customers so I'll continue to do oil changes myself.

Also, the CEL it was in for turned out to be a NOX sensor (the third). Very thankful for CPO!
Did you ask "what is the BMW published time allowance for an oil change- not what you mark it up to, but the BMW published hours...AND...what SPECIFICALLY does this include".

Dealer are allowed to make up whatever hours they want, but BMW publishes an allowance (Alldata and Mitchell both have this number as well). It would be interesting to add 8qts+filter+hrsxrate=??.

Anyway, even at 130 it is far easier for me to do it in 30 minutes in the comfort of my garage.

Finally, what CODES are you getting for that NOX sensor? What testplans have they run? How have they confirmed bad NOX? Almost unbelievable three have gone bad- more likely the sensor is fine, the Tech has failed to properly chase down the root cause...
