there are plenty of threads on the subject here on xoutpost as well as other forums. google is your friend.

if your E70 is LCI you (should) have LED halos as standard. most new LED replacement lamps for cars come with error cancelling devices integrated, which is really just a shunt resistor simulating the presence of an intact bulb filament to return the LCM's "are you still there" voltage blips. no white-man magic there. of course, you could buy a cheap pair off ebay and end up with a couple of duds, but then you get what you pay for. or you might end up with a pair that works really well for you. trial and error. LUX are popular sets but the steep price tag doesn't guarantee they'll do what you'd expect from them. there's a lot of gear in those kits that can go wrong and more often than not halogens currently surpass the supposed tens of thousands of operating hours of an LED because a hell of a lot of LED kits are barely worth the plastic they're made from. as of yet there is no cheap & reliable LED replacement for halogens. out of cheap, bright and reliable you get to pick two.
