I took a gamble and ordered a 4.8iS body kit on eBay. It was shipped from Latvia. It included fender flares, front, and rear bumper spoilers. Well, in the time it took to arrive from Latvia, I received an offer on my X5 and decided to sell it. (Just bought a 2006 4.8iS from a fellow Xoutposter and its on its way from Seattle as I type this.)
I spent $388 on this body kit and that includes shipping. When it arrives since I no longer needed it I contacted the seller to see if he would accept returns. No problem, but I'm responsible for shipping costs. USPS dropped it off at my house so I take the unopened package back to the post office where I was told they won't ship an item that large. I explain that they delivered it, so obviously they do ship items that large. I was told that the package didn't originate as a USPS package and that they just weren't going to touch it. Ok fine.
I then go to UPS to get a quote. $1,300 to ship it back. Oh, ok. I guess I'm keeping it. So I open the package and the rear spoiler is broken in 2. I took pictures and emailed the seller explaining the shipping situation and that there was a broken piece hoping he would give me some sort of refund. And to his credit he did refund me $120.
What a hassle. If anyone wants to play around with this thing let me know. I no longer have any use for it, and I can get some actual pics, but this is the pic from the eBay ad.
