By "tracking" do you mean "alignment"??

I would say soak the fitting in WD40 or whatever...see if they loosen. If necessary heat...or cut them off.

You want to do a 4 wheel alignment- each wheel toe in 0.01 to 0.02", caster and camber set to the middle of their ranges, balanced side to side

PS I only work on California Cars...land of little rust....having grown up wrenching in the northeast US.
