Why inspect timing chains for premature wear (they call it 'stretch' which is a misnomer, promulgated to avoid people concluding "well if the chain has premature wear what about ALL the other pieces in the motor???)

I particularly like this nonsense quote from the article:

Plays into the preconceived bias that 'the way we do things in germany is always superior'....

R/T gains access by promulgating what manufacturers want them to write. Writers are not necessarily very smart in terms of engineering backgrounds, nor are they motivated to dig into engineering...if they want a trip to germany and a date on the 'ring, they listen to their "insiders" and write the story as they are told it. Just easier to go with the flow.
