I have exactly the same issue on my 2010 X5 35D. I can clear the codes and they will sometimes come back the same day. Sometime the CEL just goes off randomly for a couple of days and comes back.

The only codes I have are 47C4 and 478E and mine is totally stock with no tuners.

Has anyone figured this out yet?
