Funny thing is the week before I was going to rip it down to fix all the leaks and timing guides, a small whirring sound developed almost like an alternator bearing. checked it out and the sound was not coming from the alternator, ac compressor, or pulleys. So when we ripped down the engine just started to see the beginning pieces of the timing guides come apart and the chain just started to make contact with the metal. Talk about perfect timing.

You got lucky there. How many miles or km did you have on your x when you did the chain? Did you do the whole package with vanos and upper chains to? It would give peace of mind to do the chains. Attaching a video of my engine running at idle. First half of the video, the engine runs on cold start rpm (1000). Im no expert on these engines, but i cant hear any scray noises 😄
