Thanks for the info and patience JV. Been outta town, couldn't get on line. The X5 does sit outside...last Thursday I noticed the screen start to pulsate/flicker a little. Later that night it quit completly but then came back on, readable but kinda dim. The next morning it took a complete dump and hasn't come back.
The only thing I've done recently was to pull the battery and have it charged. The car sat during the last snow and the battery was dead. But that was well over a week before the screen failed.
Anyhow, I'll check the harness and keep hoping.
