Here some FYI to have in your mental rolodex regarding the IBS (intelligent battery sensor) which is one of the reasons BMWs with an IBS is suppose to register new batteries. I don't see a warning that says your stuff is going to blow to smithereens if you don't register the battery...but I would probably do it not to "anger" the BMW gods.
